You can not recycle PS Number 6 labeled plastic items through your curbside recycling program. Otherwise known as Polystyrene, this resin is commonly used in packaging protection,  food packaging, and insulation. While technically recyclable, almost none of it gets recycled in the US due to profitability struggles.
